Our Story

Henrique's story is rooted in the fertile soils of Portugal's Douro Valley, where his family has been cultivating the land through farming and grape growing for centuries. His life journey has taken him across continents and disciplines, with a professional foundation in electrical engineering, honed in Germany, he then became a Marine and specialised further in electrics, OH&S and fire safety. Transitioning to Site Management in the UK, he developed a keen eye for detail and a knack for problem-solving. Relocating to Australia ten years ago, Henrique embraced the role of builder and father and has worked with various educational institutions around South Australia.

His deep understanding of residential and commercial construction, coupled with a specialised focus on the unique needs of schools, sets HEN + CO apart. Beyond the tools and blueprints, Hen brings a holistic perspective, informed by his connection to nature, his passion for community, and his love for family. In his spare time, you'll find him crafting furniture, playing tennis, diving, or simply enjoying the beauty of Holdfast Bay.

Complementing Henrique's practical expertise is Miranda, a project management specialist. Her experience, also global and in diverse sectors, has instilled a deep interest in understanding of the 'why' behind every project. With over 20 years of experience, she blends inspiration, process, and efficiency, empowering teams to achieve their goals and make a real difference.
